The Instrumentation Technologist role at Ingentia Energies Limited involves maintaining, calibrating, testing, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems used in process plants and field operations. The successful candidate will support plant reliability, safety, and operational efficiency by ensuring instrumentation systems, monitoring devices, valves, and safety systems function effectively and comply with industry standards. The role also requires collaboration with contractors and production teams, maintenance planning, documentation, and continuous improvement of instrumentation performance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance, calibration, and testing of process control, monitoring, and metering instruments including pressure, temperature, level, and flow devices.
  • Perform maintenance of auto-sampler systems, PD and turbine flow meters, and calibration of S&W monitors.
  • Maintain and test process plant fire and gas detection systems, smoke detection systems, and related safety instrumentation.
  • Carry out maintenance and calibration of process plant control valves, shutdown valves, and blowdown valves.
  • Conduct maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of wellhead control panels and instrumentation systems.
  • Operate and perform first-line maintenance on campsite micro turbine power plants and gas conditioning units.
  • Install, maintain, and function-test field chemical injection pumps and instrumentation systems affected by facility modifications.
  • Prepare tenders and support certification processes for process plant instruments and equipment.
  • Document corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities in the CMMS and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Raise material requisitions, coordinate with materials supervisors, and ensure availability of maintenance spares and consumables.
  • Work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and production teams to troubleshoot plant upsets and ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and work order prioritization requirements while identifying opportunities for instrumentation optimization and performance improvement.

Requirements

  • A minimum first degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in a related discipline is an added advantage.
  • Professional membership in a relevant industry association is an advantage (e.g., Member of ISA, IEEE, and SPE).
  • Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in a similar organisation.
